Mathena have been
doing business at the same location in Helen, Georgia, since 1981.
We started as a woodworking shop with the goal of making everything
that we sold, but as time has gone by the business has undergone many
changes. We still make most of the wooden items in our woodworking shop
in the back part of our building,, but now we are filled with the crafts of
many other people as well. A lot of our offerings would be considered home accessories:
- Picture frames of pewter, wood, or with sculpted
animals on the front.
- Hand made washable rugs made from tube sock fabric.
- We make magazine racks, napkin holders, and boutique
tissue box holders with fabric on the two side panels.
- We also make wooden candle sticks, candles
(decoration only), fruit, bowls, door
harps, trivet- folding
baskets,
pens, pencils, letter openers, and, well you get the idea.
- Hand crafted painted glass that looks like stained
glass, in sizes 6" ovals through 14"x26", and
other sizes.
- Weather Vanes made of aluminum, door stops of iron,
and bird houses that look like churches.
- All these things, and more, will eventually be added
