We have been selling painted glass by " The Robbins Nest" for about 15 years and the selection continues to grow each year. There are four sizes that they offer, enclosed in a wooden frame with a walnut stain, but they do not offer any custom size, shape, or designs. One of the most important things to keep in mind, whether you are buying this artist work or some one else's work, is make sure that the design is painted on Glass and not plastic (plastic will yellow and scratch easily). These pieces of framed painted glass are designed to be hung in front of a window by the chain that is included. Some people have ordered multiple pieces, of one design, and had a cabinet maker take the glass out of the frame and inset the glass into their kitchen cabinet doors. Painted glass looks great when hung on a wall as a picture rather than in the window and customers also tell me that using the glass in a pass though between the kitchen and the dinning room works very well too.
Painted Glass does not do well when placed in an extremely high humidity location like the bathroom. All day sun light shinning on a window is a bad choice to place your painted glass in front of. Light, other than all day direct, will not hurt your painted glass and will show off the design beautifully for years to come. Some direct sun light is OK but the less the better.
If you have multiple panes of glass with wooden dividers in your window you might think that you can not have painted glass hanging in that window, you are probably wrong. When you take the time to properly hang and center the painted glass in front of your window the result will be that you and everybody else will focus on the painted glass and not the window, this is called selective focus.
