Candle and Bobe'che

Bobéche is pronounced as
"Bow-besh", is a French invention circa 1897.

These Bobeche are fine glass rings from Germany that measure about 2-3/4" in diameter with a hole in the center to fit around a standard 7/8" taper candle and are concaved.  As the wax, from a burning candle, dribbles down the side of the candle it is collected in the cup of  the glass Bobeche.  Stopping the wax here will save you allot of trouble cleaning your candle holder and worse, cleaning your table cloth.  There is a wide variety of Bobeche designs to chose from and some are for the Christmas season.  The designs are permanently  fused to the glass during a firing process and some are etched into the glass, so the wax will not harm the image.
Glass Bobeche give a touch of class to any table setting from casual to elegant.  Leaving  the  Bobeche on your candle holder all the time will add to the beauty of the holder and  they are more protected there than in a drawer.
Note, Caution:   These Bobeche are glass and fragile and if broken may cut you.  Handle with care.
